Dear OHS Families,

I hope you were able to enjoy the fabulous weather this past weekend!  We have been so lucky the last few weeks– just beautiful days, and the forecast looks equally promising for the next 10 days!  Keep your fingers crossed we get one of these gorgeous days for our Harvest Faire on Saturday, October 26th! I heard we had to have it inside the last couple of years, so it will be nice if we can have it outside. It will be my first one, and I am really looking forward to it!  Thank you to the PTA for all of their planning, as I know it is a tremendous amount of work. If you have not volunteered to help out, but are able, please sign up. No experience necessary, and many hands make light work!

We have a great week ahead! Grade 2 is on a Field Trip today to the Fairfield Museum. We have a famous author, Jerry Pallotta, visiting OHS on Tuesday for a special presentation to our K-3 students.  We have Parent/Teacher Conferences on Wednesday and Thursday, and don’t forget that due to conferences we have early dismissal on Wednesday and Thursday. Then on Friday, we have Spirit Day, and our kindergarten classes get to go to Jones Farm.  Finally, we all get together for the Harvest Faire on Saturday.

I hope you all enjoy a terrific week!  Take care.

Sean F. Smyth, Principal

Volunteer to help during the Harvest Faire

The Harvest Faire is fun for the whole OHS community, but we need help from our family of friends to make it happen! The inflatables, games, activities, and food stations can't go on without volunteers. High schoolers and OHS alumni are welcome to help.

Say "Hello" with the IDEA Committee

In honor of Global Diversity Month, we will be picking a day this month to celebrate “the many ways OHS families say hello!” Do you speak a different language or languages at home? Please share with the IDEA Committee to include in this celebration.

Donate to help OHS provide a meal for Operation Hope

Hello Osborn Families,

The season of giving will soon be upon us and we could use your help.  Our school will be providing a meal for people in need at Operation Hope the week prior to Thanksgiving. In order to make this possible, we are looking for monetary donations from our school community. Any amount you can give will be appreciated and no donation too small!  You can Venmo a donation to @stacey-cunningham-3 (9555) or @Katharine-Kirk-2 (3652).   If you are sending in cash, please send them in an envelope marked, “Operation Hope.” Thank you so much for your support.

This session will be switching back to ONE-PHASE registration, so you can sign up for as many classes as you like when registration opens.

Picture Retake Day October 28

New Monthly OHS Teacher and Staff Appreciation Celebrations

Instead of just showing our appreciation for our OHS teachers and staff for just one week during the year, we are sprinkling some joy throughout the year! Each grade is taking a month to do something special for the teacher lounge. Kindergarten kicked things off on Friday with fall treats and decorations.

Room parents will be coordinating this effort and soliciting items, so if you have questions, please reach out to your room parents. A special thank you to our Teacher Appreciation Committee (Tanya Dunne, Kim Dragovic, Maria McKeon, and Dana Zuskin) and teacher lounge manager (Danielle Brower) for kicking this off!

Have news to share? Email Jen Braunby 10am Friday
to include in the following Monday's OHS Weekly Flash.
